Christmas is more than the gifts…let’s get into the Spirit of Christmas!
News
So what exactly is the Spirit of Christmas? It is that feeling of reflections, memories and special traditions, unique to our own families. If only someone could put that feeling into a bottle and market it! We could use it in July or August when we feel the effects of an Aussie Winter.
The Anticipation of Christmas
It’s exciting looking forward to the big day – don’t let the chaos of last minute Christmas shopping dull your excitement – order online and shop early. Factor in some down time to take a break from the rush, catch up with friends and family with a glass of bubbly and some great SA gourmet goodies. The lead up to Christmas always involves watching some classic Christmas movies like, It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St and the Polar Express.
Christmas Eve:
Christmas Eve is special in our house – that is when we exchange our Kris Kringle gifts, then we try to guess who bought our gift. The morning is spent undertaking last minute preparations and shopping must be avoided at all costs. This is the worst possible time to hit the shops looking for gifts!
Family Traditions:
Once the SA Christmas Pageant is over the Christmas tree can be unpacked and decorated. This activity can bring back many memories if you still have the special decorations made at Kindy and School by the kids. Embrace those family traditions – these people are precious and truly deserve the gift of your time.
Shop Online Early: Avoid the crowds and overwhelming choices spurring you on to make poor decisions! Shop online and shop around for ideas, best prices, and enjoy this in comfort, in your own time.
Kindness and Giving
Christmas may not be a happy and joyous time for those less fortunate. Be mindful and consider reaching out to those in need by donating time and gifts to your favourite charities. BoxSAlicious supports many needy causes like The Hutt Street Centre and CanTeen. Sometimes just a smile can go along way!
